There are actually two fields to online marketing - Black Hat and White Hat. The White Hat online marketing method is basically doing your online business the right way. Example, doing your SEO right, professionally blogging right, contributing your expertise and thus build up your reputation and traffic to your online business/website. The Black Hat method is doing your online business the unethnical way. For example having a Blog Farm (multiple blogs owned by you and under different IP address account) so you build up your networking, linking to each other with keywords and therefore establishing a high ranking in the Search Engine. If you are running Google Adsense, you can expect a high traffic surge for your targeted keywords and high click ratio. You can also have black hat forum marketing method. One of the ways that I understood from a professional black hat marketer is to create duplicate forum account and when A (the real person) is recommending an affiliate product - B (the duplicated person) will be strongly supporting the idea of this product. Thus a fake testimonial and a higher click thru as we, as human beings, are easily persuaded by peer influence.
